The Beethoven-Schumann-Mendelssohn concert was stunnnig.
Onstage, it was business as usual (stunning)
What I fail to understand is the continued silence from both the Ohio Arts Council and the Greater Columbus Arts Council. Are they offering any kind of practical help behind the scenes?
Nearly fifty years ago the Metropolitan Opera shut down and the subscribers appealed-successfully-to President Kennedy to intervene and insist negotiations resume. So where are our local elected officials? Why not speak out in support of the city's cultural life? Can it be that our elected officials are unaware the city HAS a cultural life? Sometimes its more important to be passionate than politic.
